New satellite photos show that North Korea is making improvements to the infrastructure at the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center at a heightened pace. It appear that there have been adaptions to the site’s plutonium production reactor and the creation of new support facilities. These actions contradict North Korea’s commitment to “total denuclearization” which their leader Kim Jong Un agreed to at a summit with President Trump. These modifications and construction were long planned and were even started before this summit. However they show that North Korea will not be stopping their nuclear programs anytime in the foreseeable future. President Trump has repeatedly assured that North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat but their continued production of plutonium would suggest otherwise.
The photo below is the satellite image of the Yongbyon Nuclear Scientific Research Center which shows the new building in place.
